Toby’s dog friendly walk from Branscombe to Beer

Combe House Dog Walk

Toby’s on another great walk!

It’s November, the first signs of winter are here, and Toby from Combe House is back one of his favourite walks. This time, Toby walks Branscombe to Beer along the South West Coastal Path. This very scenic walk is beautiful, but does require a reasonable level of fitness of both dog and walker. With the colder temperatures and steep climbs at both ends of the walk, this walk is not for the faint hearted or over exuberant dog. There are impressive drops which can make for a more dangerous course. If you are up for …

Perhaps the best thing …

The Day of the Wedding at Bovey Castle

Bovey Castle

Beautiful Bovey Castle

Check out Katie’s account of second day staying at Bovey Castle for the wedding last Saturday…

After a fabulous night’s sleep in our beautiful room at Bovey Castle we awoke to the sun streaming through the windows. We took a look outside and the sun rising over the golf course was very re-freshing. We grabbed our swimming kit and thought we would head to breakfast followed by a stroll around the grounds and a quick swim before we donned our glad rags for the reason we were all here in this magnificent setting – the wedding!

The Totnes Show

A Prize Sheep!

Totnes – A first class show!

This bank-holiday weekend our Account Manager Katie spent her Sunday at the Totnes Show in South Devon. She reported back with the following:

“On Sunday, I had the pleasure of going down to the Totnes Show. Having been postponed once due to the poor weather they re-scheduled for the August Bank Holiday and they couldn’t have been luckier – the sky was blue and cloudless and the heat was turned up a notch! It was however very wet underfoot and wellies had to be worn but this added to the fun of the day!

Congratulations Clovelly!

Clovelly

Colourful Clovelly

Every year CountryfileMagazine hold a number of Awards for the best locations around the UK. This year’s winner in the ‘Best heritage attraction’ category is Devon’s very own Clovelly!

The voting is based on visitor experience and voted for all around the country, with the famous North Devon fishing village beating off a lot of competition to carry off the award.

As everyone knows, Clovelly doesn’t allow cars in to the village, making it an idyllic example of times gone by. A huge number of cottages line the steep streets and a number of fishing boats sit at …
